James Frew was formed in 1911 by the great grandfather of the present Contracts Director, Roddy Frew

From modest beginnings the firm moved into plumbing and heating contracting particularly during the post war housing boom under the guidance of the founder's son Alexander Frew who controlled the firm from 1946 to 1975.

In recent years the present Managing Director Richard Frew has expanded the company and it now can offer a comprehensive range of building services solutions from maintenance to large mechanical installations.

Employing over 200 people all directly employed and operating throughout the central belt of Scotland the company has established a strong market position in the design and installation of plumbing and mechanical systems.

James frew purchased the company in 1911 for twenty-five pounds

In the residential sector the company works for most of the major private house developers, main contractors, and social housing providers and our maintenance services provide a full range of breakdown cover and servicing to the public and private sector including GasSure our comprehensive repair and service scheme
