GEORGE NETS UNUSUAL REWARD
11 February 2011
George Oszczypala landed an unexpected catch when he celebrated 25 years of working with building services company James Frew.
The keen fisherman from Auchinleck was originally offered a watch to mark his achievement but surprised workmates by asking for fishing tackle vouchers instead.
James Frew, Managing Director Roddy Frew, was only too happy to honour his request. He said: “George works as a customer care operative and always goes above and beyond for our clients so we were keen to give him something special as a mark of appreciation for all his tremendous work and patience over the years.
“He is an excellent ambassador for the company and has a fantastic can-do attitude to his work.”
George, who recently turned 60, said: “I already had a good watch so I thought I would take the opportunity to get some new fishing gear. I can’t wait to get my new rod out on one of my favourite rivers in Dumfries when the weather improves.
“When I started at James Frew I didn’t think I would be there for 25 years but it is a great company for training people to be all-rounders so no two days are ever the same.”
James Frew is a family owned business, with its headquarters in Stevenston, Ayrshire. The company employs over 200 people and offers integrated building services including plumbing, heating, mechanical services, gas maintenance and property upgrades for public and private sectors including design, installation and maintenance.
