NEW ENERGY SERVICE OFFERS CONSUMER SAVINGS

02 September 2010

A new service designed to provide renewable energy technology to homes in a bid to cut down on the reliance of expensive fossil fuels has been launched by Ayrshire based independent building services firm company, James Frew.

The new division, Ecosure, will provide an assessment of the energy efficiency of a property, analysing current energy consumption, heat loss, insulation, existing heating systems etc. Following the inspection a number of different, tailored renewable energy products will be recommended highlighting the financial and carbon savings to the home owner. The firm can also provide advice on access to grant funding.

The technologies available will include Solar Thermal, panels designed to fit the appropriate roof space, Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps and Solar Photovoltaic which is an alternative way of providing electricity to your home. Ecosure will design and install the products as well as maintain the systems.

Roddy Frew, Managing Director, said, “Energy consumption and its increasing cost is only going to become more and more of a concern. It’s not an issue that’s going to go away and home owners need to start tackling the issue and conserving energy now. The imminent introduction of new building regulations will also mean that new home owners will have to look at more efficient energy systems.

“Next year we celebrate our centenary so we have a track record of working on residential heating systems. The launch of Ecosure, which represents a significant investment, is a natural progression for the business and one which we plan to develop”.

Ecosure will be represented by Jim Mitchell, formerly with The Energy Agency, who plans to roll out the energy efficiency technologies to housing developers and residential organisations which will be under pressure to achieve SAP ratings in years to come.

Ecosure is a member of the Renewable Energy Assurance Scheme and an MCS Accredited Installer. Further information is available from www.ecosure-scotland.co.uk.

James Frew is a family owned business, with its headquarters in Stevenston, Ayrshire. The company employs over 200 people and offers integrated building services including plumbing, heating, mechanical services, gas maintenance and property upgrades for public and private sectors including design, installation and maintenance.
