On 5 August, we welcomed our newest Modern Apprentices to the business as they started their first year on the apprenticeship programme. After standing out amongst a record number of applicants, Mason Duncan, Scott Reynolds and Harry McGowan secured their places for our August intake.
Having already worked with us for almost a year, all three have shown great potential and have become familiar faces at James Frew.
The induction provided an excellent opportunity for them to meet fellow apprentices, learn more about the programme and gain an insight into the support and development opportunities available throughout their apprenticeship journey. We look forward to seeing Mason, Scott and Harry continue to grow and succeed over the coming years and wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter.

During the induction day, we also took the opportunity to recognise this year’s Modern Apprentice of the Year award winners.
David Gordon was recognised as Plumbing Apprentice of the Year.
Sam Downie received the Joinery Apprentice of the Year award.

All 3 apprentices have demonstrated a strong commitment to their development, consistently producing high-quality work and making a positive contribution to their teams.
Their achievements highlight the dedication and hard work required to succeed in their apprenticeships and provide a great example for our new first-year apprentices as they begin their own journey with the business.
As we welcome a new intake, we also congratulate our fourth-year apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeships across both our West of Scotland and Dumfries & Galloway operations. Reaching this milestone is a testament to their hard work, dedication and commitment over the past four years. We thank them for their contribution to the business and wish them every success as they begin the next chapter of their careers, with James Frew.
