We are delighted to announce we have signed the Conflict Avoidance Pledge. The Conflict Avoidance Process (CAP) developed by a coalition of leading industry bodies, is a contractual mechanism which helps parties to avoid getting embroiled in pro-longed and damaging disputes. The process is designed to resolve matters early, prevent formal confrontation, and work with industry experts to access advice and support from impartial and experienced CAP professionals.
Operations Director Daniel Gibson said: “We very much welcome this early intervention process designed to stop issues escalating into disputes. We pride ourselves on effective and productive client and supply chain relationships and have already started working collaboratively with our supply chain to embrace the CAP principles, and we will be embedding CAP into future contracts”.
Quantity Surveyor Pamela Affleck said: “Adopting the CAP principles aligns very well with our commitment to working collaboratively with our suppliers, sub-contractors and customers. Responsible contractual behavior is essential in ensuring time, cost and energy are not wasted on unnecessary disputes”.
Leading industry expert Len Bunton of Bunton Consulting Partnership added: “I am heavily involved in developing the Conflict Avoidance Process in the UK. James Frew are one of my valued clients and I have been very impressed at the willingness of their Senior Management Team to understand how CAP operates, and to sign the Conflict Avoidance Pledge. It has also been very encouraging to see that they are involving their wider supply chain in the process, which is really captures the spirit of what CAP is all about. Hopefully James Frew have set the standards for others to follow”.
